How It’s Innovative

The A-88MKII was the first MIDI 2.0-compatible instrument, and Roland has continued to provide free updates to expand MIDI 2.0 functionality. At the 2025 NAMM Show, Roland released A-88MKII firmware version 2.10, which offers a preview of the MIDI 2.0 Piano Profile set of features for the public to try (when used in combination with a special version of the Ivory3 plugin from Synthogy).
